Diamond McCarthy is a boutique that specializes in complex commercial litigation and federal bankruptcy/insolvency. Our litigation practice encompasses the trial of state and federal civil claims, federal and state appeals, and alternative dispute resolution (mediation, arbitration, private or mini trials, etc.). Our bankruptcy/insolvency practice involves counseling prospective debtors (or their creditors) in connection with complex work-out and restructuring transactions, and handling related disputes in courts across the country on both the debtor and creditor sides of the docket.

Much of our national and international work arises in connection with our litigation practice in professional liability, insolvency liability and business fraud. Our clients in these cases generally are world banks, creditor groups or bankruptcy trustees. Typically they retain us when a company is on the verge of failure (or has already failed), and ask us to determine "who killed the company?" It's our job to find out, and then to help our clients pursue the responsible parties for appropriate damages. It's extremely interesting work (a bit like being a detective), and on the cutting edge of insolvency law in many respects. We are handling matters like this in California, New York, Nevada, Illinois, Texas, Canada, and England, among other places.

We tend to staff our cases as leanly as possible. Furthermore, due to our size, our associates necessarily assume meaningful roles in our cases from the very beginning. Early responsibility isn't just a catchy recruiting phrase at our firm - it's a way of life.
