Andrew B. "Andy" Ryan joined Diamond McCarthy in May of 2005.

Andy has litigation and trial experience in a wide range of complex matters and has represented clients in lawsuits for insurance subrogation, complex real estate disputes, theft and misappropriation of trade secrets and breach of fiduciary duty by officers and directors.

Andy's representations include:
  • Prosecution of subrogation and contribution lawsuit on behalf of a paying co-insurer against its non-paying co-insurer, alleging breach of contract and bad faith insurance practices;

  • Prosecution of a national real estate developer's breach of contract claim in arbitration, where Diamond McCarthy's client received over $3.5 million in damages;

  • Prosecution of a derivative lawsuit on behalf the shareholders of a national Tequila retailer against the company's officers and directors, alleging breach of fiduciary duty, misappropriation of corporate opportunity, and theft of intellectual property;

  • Defending a national and international e-mail software manufacturer and marketer in a lawsuit alleging theft and misappropriation of trade secrets;

  • Prosecution of a declaratory judgment action in a real estate dispute between a Texas-based real estate company and its tenant, a national chain retail store;

  • Defending an American mortgage lender in a Texas lawsuit that sought to declare the mortgage lien invalid, including representing the lender on its successful appeal;

  • Prosecution of a declaratory judgment action on behalf of a large Texas oil and gas partnership against its contractors, subcontractors and vendors;

Andy received his J.D. from Baylor Law School and was a member of the school's nationally ranked moot court and mock trial teams. Andy received his B.A. in Political Science from the University of Iowa, where he was the national intercollegiate debate champion.

Andy is licensed to practice in Texas and is admitted to practice before the Northern District of Texas. Andy is also a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Dallas Bar Association, and the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers.
