J. Maxwell Beatty joined Diamond McCarthy in 2006. Max is a trial attorney who handles all types of complex litigation with an emphasis on financial fraud cases, insolvency disputes, professional liability cases, and other business disputes.

Max's representations include:

  • Representation of the post-confirmation liquidating trustee in the USA Capital case in Las Vegas Bankruptcy Court. The USA Capital case involves a $960 million Ponzi scheme related to the management of a sub-prime mortgage servicer.

  • Representation of the Cayman Joint Provisional Liquidators of Parmalat Capital Finance and the Joint Official Liquidators of Food Holdings Ltd. and Dairy Holdings Ltd. in the pursuit of claims against Bank of America, Deloitte, and Grant Thornton in the U.S. Federal Court for the Southern District of New York related to the multi-billion dollar financial collapse of Parmalat, an Italian-based dairy conglomerate.

Max Beatty joined Diamond McCarthy in August 2006.

Max received his J.D., summa cum laude, from the Texas Tech School of Law in May 2006, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif. While at Texas Tech, Max served as an Articles Editor for the Texas Tech Law Review, receiving the Outstanding Articles Editor Award for 2006. In addition, Max served as a teaching assistant for Federal Civil Procedure and worked in the Civil Litigation Clinic.

Max graduated with High Honors from the Program in Professional Accounting at the University of Texas at Austin in 2002, receiving both a Bachelors in Business Administration and a Masters in Professional Accounting. After graduating, Max worked for a Big Four accounting firm as an auditor.

Max is licensed to practice in Texas and is a member of the State Bar of Texas.
