Bankruptcy Judge OKs Dreier Trustee's Fraudulent-Transfer Claims
July 11, 2011
Howard Ressler and Sheila Gowan, two New York office partners, raised claims of actual and constructive fraudulent conveyances under both federal and New York law to recover more than $16.6 million against three hedge funds that allegedly knew or should have known they received money from the Dreier's Ponzi scheme. Judge Martin Glenn, U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York, ruled that Sheila Gowan, who is also the Chapter 11 Trustee in the Dreier bankruptcy, could proceed with her actual-fraudulent-conveyance claims.
