Michael represents both plaintiffs and defendants in complex civil, commercial, and intellectual property litigation. Michael has served as court-appointed co-lead counsel in class actions and represented mass action plaintiffs in various state and federal courts. His clients have included individuals, as well as national and world-wide corporations.
Some of the results that Michael has achieved for his clients include:
- Successfully resolving a multi-million dollar patent case in the Eastern District of Texas, including obtaining summary judgment on certain damages issues for his client.
- Obtaining a $6 million settlement for his client in NASD arbitration.
- Successfully defending his client’s “expected or intended” insurance exclusion claim in international arbitration.
- Obtaining a complete victory for his client in AAA arbitration on breach of contract and other claims.
After graduating with honors from the University of Texas School of Law, Michael was admitted to practice law in Texas in 2002, achieving the second highest score on the bar exam that year. Prior to joining Diamond McCarthy, Michael worked for Susman Godfrey LLP, where he was named by Super Lawyers and Texas Monthly as a “Rising Star” in the Texas legal community. He is admitted to practice in all Texas state courts and the Northern, Southern, Eastern, and Western Federal District Courts of Texas, but he regularly appears in federal and state courts across the country.
