Diamond McCarthy's Kathy Bazoian Phelps Quoted in Orlando Sentinel

February 5, 2019

Diamond McCarthy Senior Counsel Kathy Bazoian Phelps was recently quoted in Orlando Sentinel’s article, “Village resident tied to massive Ponzi scheme agrees to repay $1M made from fraudulent securities”.

The article recounts the resident’s affiliation with a $1.2 billion Ponzi scheme and recently-ordered settlement penalties. Phelps describes how potential investors are often lured into Ponzi schemes by those closest they know. She additionally remarks on how common it is for Ponzi schemes to go unnoticed or undetected.

Phelps is the author of “Ponzi-proof Your Investments, An Investor’s Guide to Avoiding Ponzi Schemes and other Fraudulent Scams.” The book informs future investors of the knowledge needed before investing, shines a spotlight on the warning signs of deceitful investments and ways to better increase the odds of avoiding financial fraudulent schemes.
