A Senior Counsel in the Firm's Houston office, Clay focuses his practice on matters relating to complex commercial litigation, including contracts, business torts, construction litigation, UCC and warranty issues, insurance recovery and claims, lender liability, real property issues, environmental torts, and products liability.
Clay has extensive court room experience and first chaired a jury trial which awarded nearly $40 million to his client. He is adept at evaluating business consequences and legal risks associated with litigation, including issues relating to corporate governance and compliance, public relations and ethics.
Prior to joining Diamond McCarthy Clay practiced at Morgan Lewis & Bockius and Norton Rose Fulbright. Clay has a degree in accounting and, prior to receiving his JD, worked in public accounting and the oil and gas industry.
