David A. Castleman
David is a Senior Counsel in the Firm’s downtown Los Angeles office. He focuses his practice on complex litigation matters in state and federal courts, as well as arbitration and ADR.
Prior to joining Diamond McCarthy, David was an Assistant Attorney General in the New York Investor Protection Bureau, where he regulated Fortune 500 companies and helped achieve a groundbreaking, complex multimillion-dollar settlement on behalf of fraud victims and the State.
Before serving the public, David worked at a Wall Street law firm, where he represented major financial institutions in all aspects of complex litigation arising out of the 2007-08 financial crisis, including a major national bank in resolution of multibillion-dollar mortgage-backed securities disputes. David also has significant appellate experience in state and federal courts, including the United States Supreme Court.
In addition, David was named one of the “Best LGBT Lawyers Under 40” by the National LGBT Bar Association in 2013.
David received his J.D., cum laude, Order of the Coif, from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he served as Executive Editor of the Law Review. Following law school, he clerked for Judge Deborah Cook on the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
