Evan Boetticher’s career has focused on high stakes intellectual property litigation with an emphasis on life sciences and biotech where he has intimate experience with Hatch Waxman cases.  Evan’s experience covers a broad range of issues involved in litigating intellectual property disputes, including motion practice, expert and fact discovery matters, deposition and trial preparation, and the analysis of patents and technical materials for patent interpretation, construction, infringement, and validity.  This also includes writing briefs for both the ITC and IPR on related matters.

Evan received his Masters in Neuroscience from Northwestern University, and his JD from Northwestern University Law School (now Northwestern Pritzker School of Law) where he served as the Symposium Editor for the Journal of Technology and Intellectual Property.

Prior to law school, Evan performed research at the University of Chicago, where he used molecular biology, biochemistry, and cellular techniques to elucidate the signal transduction process leading to binding, migration, and diapedesis of cells during asthma and allergy attacks. His work contributed to a score of publications appearing in peer-reviewed journals.  The years Evan spent in the lab, gave him the hands on technical experience in understanding the science of what goes into developing products, which provides a unique perspective when analyzing the legal challenges inventors and operating companies face with protecting and enforcing their IP assets.
