Lauren K. Valastro is an Associate at Diamond McCarthy's Houston office. Her practice focuses on plaintiff and defense representation in complex domestic and international commercial, energy, and environmental litigation matters.  Those matters include contracts, insurance, indemnification, liquidations, greenwashing, and fraud.  In addition to a consistent representation of diverse corporate clients from across the globe, Lauren also has a broad range of environmental experience including litigation concerning the remediation and restoration of contaminated properties, cost-recovery and contribution actions under CERCLA, RCRA, and state counterparts, condemnation, tribal issues, claims for property and economic damages, contract disputes, and the assessment and recovery of natural resource injuries and damages.

Lauren has second-chaired multiple jury trials, which resulted in a favorable verdict or settlement, has assisted with high-stakes arbitrations, and has successfully argued high-stakes motions of all types in state and federal courts.  Lauren has also argued in the United States Second Circuit Court of Appeals and has represented clients before various state appellate courts.

Lauren graduated first in her college class from Texas Tech University, summa cum laude with honors, with a B.A. in Spanish and Political Science and received her J.D., magna cum laude, from Texas Tech University School of Law.  In law school, Lauren served as Editor of the Texas Tech Law Review and clerked for Judge Ruben G. Reyes in the 72nd Judicial District of Texas. She also graduated from the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity Pathfinder Program and has authored a number of publications on natural resource damages, preemption in evolving energy markets, custody dispute standards and more.
