Mark A. Shank of Diamond McCarthy LLP has been elected 2020-2021 Fellows Chair of the Texas Bar Foundation. Mr. Shank took office June 26, 2020.
Practicing within the Texas legal community for almost 40 years, Mark Shank has been recognized by multiple organizations for his impactful work as trusted strategist, arbitrator, mediator and negotiator. Mark has been listed as a Thomson Reuters Super Lawyer recipient for 16 consecutive years and was recently listed as Top 100: 2020 Texas Super Lawyer List, Top 100: 2020 Dallas/Fort Worth Super Lawyers List and Best Lawyers in America in Commercial Litigation and Labor & Employment Litigation. Mark is also the author of The Texas Litigator’s Guide to Departing Employee Cases published by ALM.
Mr. Shank previously served as the Texas Bar Foundation Chair, on the District 6 Nominating Committee and as Nominating Co-Chair for District 6, and as the Fellows Secretary and Fellows Chair-elect prior to his election as Fellows Chair of the Texas Bar Foundation.
Founded in 1965 by attorneys determined to assist the public and improve the profession of law, the Texas Bar Foundation has maintained its mission of using the financial contributions of its membership to enhance the rule of law and the system of justice in Texas. To date, the Texas Bar Foundation has distributed more than $21 million throughout Texas to assist nonprofit organizations with a wide range of justice-related programs and services. More than $1 million is projected to be distributed for grants this fiscal year.
